It was the night of THE ROC as Jay-Z hit his hometown New York City at the legendary Madison Square Garden for The Blueprint III tour featuring appearances from the Young Jeezy, Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. However, in addition to a sold out Madison Square Garden, and every NAME known possible, a surprise appearance from Lil Wayne (whose incarceration was postponed) during the set of “GO HARD” with Drake and Nicki Minaj. Check out some of the photos below and coverage  . Jay-Z’s next stops with THE BP3 tour will be Washington D.C., Norfolk, Virginia, and the last stop Los Angeles, California on March 26.

December 1, 2009: WORLD AIDS DAY, THE ELEMENT OF FREEDOM, and an Empire State of Mind. Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Alicia Keys along with AMERICAN EXPRESS and YOUTUBE held an intimate benefit concert for World AIDS DAY this past Tuesday in New York, New York. Keys performed her new singles from her new album, “The Element of Freedom,” “Empire State of Mind” with Jay-Z and “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart,” as well as her biggest hits “No One,” “Fallin,” and “Wreckless Love.” Check out the pictures and video of “Empire State of Mind” below, Alicia Keys’ new album “The Element of Freedom” will be in stores and online December 15, 2009.

COVERAGE: YARDFEST 2009

If Howard University is not known for its academic acheivement and endeavors among top black students, its definitely known for one other thing (besides you know what), HOMECOMING! Especially YARDFEST! Yardfest 2009, the end all, and be all of Howard University’s legendary homecoming featured performances from Melanie Fiona, Wale, Big Sean, Don Juan, Phil Ade, Ashaya, Yung Reno, Audio Push, and headliners The Clipse and Fabolous. However, this year’s annual free concert took it back with cameo from CAMEO.
